Led by volunteers of the Association for Equal Opportunity for Children, these visits are planned according to children’s age groups and developmental levels, helping them spend time in a safe, joyful, and supportive environment.
The work carried out through Children’s Homes Visits has taken place at different times and with different age groups. During visits to children’s homes in Eskişehir, volunteers generally worked with children aged 4–12 and came together with them during both the April 23 period and another separate visit.
In Ankara, activities were organized with different age groups. In one visit, our volunteers worked with children aged 2–6, while in another they carried out activities with children aged 5–8.
In addition, children from Ankara children’s homes were invited to one year’s National Children’s Day Festival, where they had the opportunity to participate in different social experiences within the university campus environment.
During the visits, activities were designed according to children’s developmental levels. These included art and creativity workshops, play-based group activities, age-appropriate educational activities, music listening sessions, and rhythm work.
All activities aim to go beyond bringing short-term joy into children’s daily lives. They are designed to strengthen social interaction, support children’s ability to spend time together, and help them experience positive moments in a safe environment.
Children’s Homes Visits is not only an event visit; it represents an interaction-based volunteer approach that considers children’s individual needs and age groups with care. Through these visits, children’s social bonds with both peers and volunteers are strengthened, allowing them to experience positive and supportive moments, even for a short time.
