Accessible Education

Audio Library

Audio Library is an accessible education project created to increase visually impaired children’s access to books and make reading culture more inclusive for everyone.

Launched in collaboration with Çankaya Municipality, the project enables our volunteers to record children’s books and produce accessible audio content for visually impaired children. In this way, children are supported in accessing educational materials equally and independently.

Over the past 5 uninterrupted years, more than 400 children’s books have been recorded by our volunteers and added to the audio library archive.

Over time, the project has grown stronger through publishing house collaborations. Books provided by sponsor publishers are now included in the recording process, expanding the circle of impact beyond volunteers and turning it into a broader social network.

This development has created a dual area of impact: every recorded book becomes accessible to visually impaired children in Turkey, while the physical copies are also used to meet book needs in village schools through the Colorful Tomorrows and Little Wishes Tree projects. As a result, the same book becomes both an accessible educational material and a resource that supports more than one child’s education over the years.

As part of the project, visits were made to Çankaya Municipality Audio Library to support children’s access to books through on-site work. With the association’s institutional development, the project has gained a more sustainable structure and continues with the goal of creating long-term impact in accessible education.

Audio Library is not only a project that records books; it is an accessible education movement that helps every child reach knowledge, stories, and imagination equally while increasing impact by bringing resources back into circulation.
